ACKNOWLEDGMENTS

Without these people, this book could not have been written. Throughout the book it is said that "We do this..." and "We do that..." These are the individuals behind the all inclusive "We".

A special Thanks and I love you to my darling husband, Don Lewis, who has made Life on Easy Street a reality for so many of our feline family. His support and dedication to providing for these animals is a testament to his love of the Lord. Don has worked hard all of his life and now in the years that he had planned to retire, he has instead, taken on the responsibility of full time care giver. Without his support these animals would all have faced a terrible fate. My husband has been missing since August 18, 1997 and the cats and I all miss him dearly.

Thanks to my precious daughter, Jamie Veronica for her help in not only the routine feeding and cleaning, but for going above and beyond the call of duty to help with the medical administration and for raising all of the domestic kittens. She has also supplied most of the photography, art work, poetry and video footage, for this publication and our video tapes. She has successfully raised and trained, Jumanji and adult, male Black Leopard and several of the smaller cats including two very rare White Footed Servals.

Thanks to my parents, Vernon and Barbara Stairs who instilled in me a Love of God and all of his precious Creation. They let me keep every stray cat that crossed my path and financed my years of raising pure bred show cats. They taught me that all things are possible and to never give up. My father has worked here at the sanctuary since 1995 and is responsible for the building of our more breath taking pens, complete with ponds and waterfalls.

Thanks to Dr. Stacie Wadsworth, D.V.M. who owns a domestic cat practice in a high class neighborhood. She has dedicated herself to learning more about the exotic felid and has been very successful in the diagnosis and treatment of our cats despite the lack of research available. She has made herself available to us 24 hours a day and even leaves us with her hotel and room number when she is on vacation or out of town. She has been loving and fearless in treating our big cats and discounts her services and supplies to such a point as to make her involvement philanthropic. She reveiwed and revised this book and has offered her time and experience in working with your Veterianarian. Contact her at (813) 963-6612 or write 10907 N. Dale Mabry Highway Tampa, Florida 33618. She reviewed this book and made recommendations and clarifications for me that were invaluable. A special thanks to all of the wonderful ladies on her staff.

Thanks to Sandy Wittkopp who has given us years of service and as cared for and cleaned up after our family of both humans and animals. She takes care of all of the household duties and is care giver to the Lemurs, Binturongs and smaller endangered cats. She gives each little animal it's own special time for play and comfort.

Thanks to Susan Aronoff, Veterinary Nutritional Consultant, Editor of the last version of this book and volunteer Lion trainer for making a career of finding any and every word ever written regarding exotic cat care. On her own time and at her own expense, she has secured many current and out of print books, read them and passed on information useful to this publication. She has called exotic cat owners all over the United States and compiled notes on cat care that are not available anywhere else.

Thanks to John McMahon and Penny Susa McMahon, who dedicate all of their free time to these cats and who enable Wild Life On Easy Street to operate more efficiently by keeping us on the Net and in good repair with our office equipment. John and Penny were recently married here in the Bobcat yard.

Thanks to Doug Edwards who is a dedicated tour guide here on Easy Street. He spends much of his own time and resources to secure a better way of life for our resident cats and wild cats everywhere.

Thanks to Delores Newman for sharing her forty years of experience and her collection of books, art and memories.

Thanks to Jim Moore, who has helped us feed the cats almost daily for over four years on a volunteer basis, and Al Cochran, Cyn Frantz, Eleanor Nesbit, Sharon Tolly, Carol Deller, Daniel Caprio, Steve Warrener, J.D. Allen, Victor Alonzo, Judy Watson, Jon McKinney, Kenny Farr, Gary Costello, Carol Harjung, Kelly Dorn, Shaun Martin, Sharon and Jesse Wheeler and too many more to mention, all volunteers of love and work to make Wild Life on Easy Street more than just a name for these wonderful cats.
